Sandstorm is one of the hor
rible disasters in the world. This disaster usually causes great suffering for the citizen in that area. Sandstorm different with the other storm, it contains of sand in a large of quantities. The Sahara and dry lands around the Semenanjung Arab are the main source of the sand which can cause the sandstorm. Recently, the scientist said that poor management of the arid area (dry land) in the earth, increasing the posibility of sandstorm.
Sandstorm caused by the great strong wind which is blow the sand and because of so much material. This strong wind comes when the desert heat makes the air unstable. There are four places which is having more possibility sandstorm. They are Middle of Asia, North America, Middle of Africa, and Australia. In desert areas can be occurred several times a year caused by strong pressure gradients which causes increasing of wind speed in a wide area. It may be lifted as high as 20,000 feet (6,100 m) high.
The field farm is also cause of the sandstorm. The farmer of dry land use rain water to keep the land stays humid. Such practices include leaving a field for a year after harvesting. These practices make dry land agriculture have more possibility to the sandstorm. These methods used by farmers in Washington.
This natural disaster often bring disastrous effects , like the reducing of agriculture productivity, people become asphyxia (difficult to breath), the transportations, will be delayed because there is no sunlight un the air, and damage property.
